Body for LIfe: Day 23

I had a BOKB today (Big Ol’ Krackel Bar), so I guess I have to go sit in the corner with the dunce cap on or say ten Hail Mary’s or something like that 🙂 Anyway, I finally got some skin calipers so now I can hopefully have more accurate results in terms of body fat measurement. Considering the reading is 5% less than what my scale says, I think I’ll stick with the calipers 🙂

Weight: 196 (down .5)

Body fat: 21% (Down 5 – whoohoo! 😉 )

Workout: Weights – Lower body

Today I decided to skip trying to fight off the “walkers” on the treadmill at the Y and went to an actual track instead…. running outside in 50 degree weather on asphalt which has much less give than a treadmill was a bit of a shock… I was winded much sooner than I hoped. But it was a good run nonetheless.

Yesterday was another upper-body workout day… my favorite – except for the shoulder sets. The last two muscle groups I work are biceps and triceps, and I can always push those to the point of failure (which is a good thing) Which leaves me sore the next day, but again, that’s a good thing. 🙂

RE: Body fat. I’ve assumed for a while that the body fat measuring scale I’m using is way off… I don’t think it takes muscle mass into account. Anyway, this body fat estimator tends to agree with my assertion…

Estimate #1 based on height and weight
Your “Ponderal Index” is 12.57 which gives an estimated body fat of 22.3% (43.7 pounds of fat)

Estimate #2 based on waist size and weight
Estimated body fat of 15.7% (30.8 pounds of fat)

…that seems to be much more accurate, in my opinion.

Weight: 196.5 (up .5)

Body fat: 26% (no change)

Workout: Running – 2.5 miles
