Sometimes “C” isn’t for Cookie

It’s been nearly two months since my last entry, and most people who read this can probably figure out why. I’ve had stupid little things to post here, but it seemed dumb not to address the big issue going on right now.

Anyway, on May 23rd I had a tumor removed, which turned out to be cancer. So I’ve been going through chemotherapy for the past month, and tomorrow I start my second cycle. Basically I’ll be spending 4-5 hours a day, every day this week, hooked up to an IV. The real fun doesn’t start until Thursday when all food looks good, but tastes terrible. And constant fatigue to boot. That’ll last until Tuesday or so – it’s not horrible, but not something you want to experience on a regular basis. Thankfully my last cycle is in August, then it’s just smaller treatments for another month which aren’t nearly as harsh.

But that’s what’s going on at the moment – I’m sure I’ll have more to say about it in the future.

Body for Life results

I completed the 12-week Body For Life program nearly two weeks ago… unfortunately other events have prevented me from updating the blog, but here they are-

Final weight: 191 (Starting weight: 203)

Final bodyfat: 14.6% (Starting bodyfat: over 21%)

So I’d say it was a success! My brother Clark tracked all this info in Excel and provided these graphs for me:

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

For those who have been coming here for a long time, you know that at one point I maintained a Steven Curtis Chapman fansite for nearly five years. Eventually I put it to rest, but not before I started working on a redesign that I briefly made public. So yesterday I was poking around, and found this site that looks a *lot* like that redesign I was working on. Certain similarities are uncanny – particularly the way he does links with [ brackets ], the color scheme, the green menu on the left, etc. And the fact that his website showed up only a couple of months after I closed up shop for good.

It might be entirely coincidental, but I thought it was pretty cool nonetheless 🙂
