I went in for my latest tests and checkup today, and realized I forgot to mention one thing – the nurses at the oncology center were great. I have a newfound respect for the nursing profession. They were all so friendly and understanding – I don’t think I remember any of them being rude or dismissive. I don’t think I could work in that environment, knowing that so many of the people you worked with were knocking on death’s door. It seems like it would be such a depressing job, but the nurses make a bad situation much more tolerable.
Aside from your fascinating story, you have a tremendous gift for writing. Your journal was a very thought provoking read, so thank you for publishing your experiences.
